Immigrant Integration Research and App Design
Project Description
This project explores the specific challenges new immigrants face due to language barriers, examining their impact on employment, social interaction, education, and mental health. The goal was to provide design solutions to improve language support systems. However, the final result deviated somewhat from my original research and vision. As a team project, aligning everyone’s ideas proved challenging, and the outcome did not fully reflect the initial goals. Despite this, the experience was valuable for learning teamwork, compromise, and balancing different perspectives in the design process.

Challenge
*Designing for new immigrants from different cultures and languages was challenging. I focused on creating a solution that addressed their unique needs while keeping it simple and inclusive.
*Determining the most critical issues—like employment, social interaction, education, or stress—required thorough research and user feedback to ensure I was solving real problems effectively.
Process
This project used different tools, like personas, wireframes, and storytelling, to explore how a language app could help new immigrants overcome language barriers. The app adapts to each user's level, offering personalized lessons that make learning easier and more relevant. In the end, the project focused on creating a customized solution that helps new immigrants improve their communication skills, making it easier for them to adjust to life in a new country.

Learning
1.I learned the importance of understanding user needs through research, ensuring the design truly addresses real-life challenges.
2.Designing a solution that is both simple and effective for diverse users requires careful planning and iteration.
3.Working in a team taught me how to align different perspectives and ideas while staying focused on the project goals.
4.I learned to adapt my design process when faced with unexpected outcomes, improving my problem-solving skills and flexibility.
5.Incorporating features that support users of varying language levels highlighted the importance of inclusive design principles.
